Keeping our objectives in mind, we have just concluded the first workshop in this series, called “The Boat Project - 1”. The premise of this workshop was the boat makers of Balagarh. This workshop was held in October - November 2010 in Balagarh and Kolkata.

The next workshop in this series is titled “The Boat Project - II” and the focus will shift to the boatmen and fishermen of the south of West Bengal and we plan to base this in Frazergunj and Bakkhali and explore possibilities of involving the local community. Therefore, unlike the last concluded workshop, this workshop will start and culminate in-situ.

“The Boat Project - II” workshop will be for a duration of 3 weeks.
